After shortlisting, the admissions panel make decisions on who they wish to offer a place to.

Academic requirment eligibility:

A Master’s degree and/or at least an upper second class (2.1) honours undergraduate degree in engineering or a physical science or related discipline degree. (e.g. Engineering; Chemistry; Maths; Physics; Computing).

Enquiries from more biological or medical backgrounds would be advised to enquire whether their degree would make them ineligible to apply for this particular programme, we may consider very small numbers of applications in this area and only in exceptional cases could we shortlist candidates. Studentship funding

eligibility:

UK or 'home' applications:
UK applicants are eligible for a full award, covering the cost of academic fees (UK/EU rate) and a maintenance grant.

EU applications:
EU applicants will be eligible for a fees only award, except in circumstances where residency in the UK has been established for more than 3 years prior to the start of the course. The programme is also now permitted to consider 1 EU applicant for full funding. Please do include in your application were you not awarded full funding, if you could fund the maintenance/living costs either yourself or through other funding.

Overseas applications:
Overseas applications are not eligible for either fee or maintenance funding. We may make offers to overseas students only where they have secured funding from alternative sources e.g. their own savings; their own government scholarships; other awards. Please state in your application how you intend to fund fees and living costs.

  • Statement (reasons for wishing to study in this area -approx 350 words, maximum 1,000)
  • Transcripts of marks (scans or copies are accepted, but we would need originals of certificates on admission).
